Workers Compensation Program

Premier Orthopaedics offers a specialized Workers’ Compensation program to help employers minimize lost time, protect the employees from injury and safely rehabilitate and return the employee to work. Our goal is always to get the employee back to work in a safe and timely fashion. Because of our expertise, Premier staff is often invited to tour industry facilities to learn more about workplace environments. Our surgeons and physicians are often sought out to provide second-opinions and Independent Medical Evaluations.

We have a dedicated Workers’ Compensation team who works with our physicians, patients, employers, insurance carriers, and physical therapists to assure the process following an injury runs smoothly. We know how important communication is to the parties involved in a Workers’ Compensation case. As a result, we are available to assist you in a timely manner and to address any questions or concerns you may have.

Benefits to our Workers’ Compensation Program

  • Convenient locations: We have over 20 physician offices and 16 physical therapy clinics throughout the Delaware Valley.

Workers’ Compensation Rehabilitation

Premier Physical Therapy helps patients regain their pre-injury function and return to work more quickly. We collaborate with organizations and employees, case managers, payors and insurers to provide a comprehensive program focusing on three main components:

  • Customized Return to Work Programs
  • Work Conditioning Programs
  • Ergonomic Assessments and Onsite Training

Ergonomic Assessments & Onsite Training

Premier’s Ergonomic programs are used to identify the physical demands and risk factors that may exist in the work environment. Our skilled physical therapists can perform a Physical Performance Evaluation to assess a person’s physical ability to perform work activities. Upon request, therapists can also conduct on-site assessments and training to evaluate a specific work environment and job tasks to identify injury risk factors.

Customized Return to Work

Individuals preparing to go back to work after an extended time away from work due to an injury may have some concerns about their abilities to perform the job safely and effectively. Through the use of the job descriptions and an understanding of essential job functions, our clinicians are able to create individualized programs for injured workers that simulate work demands and improve upon biomechanics. Our individualized Return to Work programs rehabilitate injured workers, expedite their recovery to the workplace, and improve overall physical performance in the workplace.

Work Conditioning

Work Conditioning is designed to restore musculoskeletal function including strength, power, endurance, joint mobility, and functional abilities to match the demands of work. Our Work Conditioning Programs generally range from 3-5 days per week for 2-4 hours per treatment depending on the severity of the injury and the physical demand requirements of the job. The primary objective of the Work Conditioning program is to restore physical capacity and function to enable the injured worker to return to his or her pre-injury employment status.

  • Prompt and Efficient Scheduling: Appointments within 48 hours of initial contact.
  • Enhanced Communication and follow up: Ongoing communication and weekly reports regarding the worker’s status and return-to-work plan with the employee, employer, case manager, and other parties involved in returning the employee to work.
  • Convenience: 15 Physical Therapy locations throughout Delaware, Chester and Montgomery Counties.

“The care I received at Premier was excellent. After the surgery, I was quickly back on the rolling pin in Sweet Beginnings Bakery. Premier was everything I expected – friends and family couldn’t believe that I went back to work as quick as I did. I loved my experience with Premier from the beginning to the end.”
