I had 8, Yes EIGHT surgical procedures performed by Dr.Odgers, three on a completely torn left rotator cuff. The first surgery was an open surgery repair of the rotator cuff and the torn bicep that was also damaged. There were two subsequent surgeries to deal with an infection at the surgical site. The following year he operated 5 times over a period of 4 months to deal with chronic osteomyelitis in my right femur, a condition that had developed at the site of a full break of my right femur that had occured 35 years prior! Here's the incident that I feel separates him from every other Dr. I've ever known. After discharge from Paoli Memorial, I realized I had no way to get the prescriptions filled that I given at discharge. I could not drive and my local relatives were on vacation out of country. I contacted Dr.Odgers office and made them aware of the situation. Dr Odgers personally went to the pharmacy and delivered the medicines to my apartment! I had rotator cuff repair with Dr Odgers had the results are excellent. Forva long time I couldn’t sleep on one side had lots of pain, took lots of ibuprofen and iced it with limited relief. Now, 6-8 months after surgery it feels great. If I ever need the other shoulder repaired, I would definitely return to Dr Odgers. I have consistently received excellent Orthopaedic Care and Physical Therapy at Premier . I first had shoulder surgery with Dr. Odgers in 2009 and once post physical therapy ,was pain free for nine years. Dr. Odgers is a great Ortho Doctor. This was my first major surgery, so was expecting there to be challenges. However, Dr. Odgers has great surgical skills, good communication skills on what to expect Pre/Post surgery and was hands on in my post op physical therapy program. Dr. Odgers performed rotator cuff surgery for a torn bicep and two badly torn tendons. Post op there wasn't any pain and I required no pain meds at all. Rehab was 4 months not 6, just in time for bilateral knee replacement. Both knees were replaced and I was walking with a walker on day 2, with a cane by day 5-6, and walking my dogs without a cane day 12. Pain was minimal throughout and recovery ahead of schedule. We had been recommended to another doctor for my shoulder surgery. We were told that this doctor was the best, that he operated on other doctors and sports figures and other "important" people. We decided to check him out on Vitals and were not impressed with his rating or reviews. We then decided to check out Dr. Odgers because we were familiar with and pleased with other doctors in his practice. We found that Dr. Odgers had great ratings ans reviews, so we had him perform my shoulder replacement surgery. This turned out to be the best decision. He has a great "bedside" manner. He makes you feel that he is totally interested in your concerns and answers all of your questions in a completely understandable way. More importantly, he is a wonderful surgeon and did a great job on my shoulder. After several weeks of rehab, I was able to do everything I did before surgery, but without any of the pain! Two (of four) 2 inch rotator cuff muscle separations and the third muscle only partially torn after fall on stairs. Appointments easily and appropriately timed; staff worked hard to find best surgery date for my schedule; preparations handled well. Full, realistic explanation did not raise expectations, although Dr Odgers was able to completely reattach all tendons and arthoscopically to boot. He was fabulous and was very respectful in treating my shoulder. Very caring and thorough He didnt mind that my rehab was done out of the practice with another sports medicine group.He was way better than the "expert" at Rothman.
