Bio

Matthew Schaeffer, MD, is a board-certified interventional spine physician dedicated to diagnosing and treating chronic low back pain. He uses precise, image-guided diagnostic procedures to find the exact source of each patient's pain. He then treats it with research-proven, minimally invasive procedures. He has been an active member of the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS) for more than 20 years. Dr. Schaeffer earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University and his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Lankenau Hospital and his residency at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. Board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Schaeffer has been named a Top Doctor for more than a decade by Philadelphia Magazine, Main Line Today, and PA Top Docs; honors that reflect the respect of his physician peers.
