I’m a 65 year old active male, & after years of pain & limping around, I had my left hip replaced in October of last year, & my right hip replaced in May of this year by Dr. Garino. I feel awesome! I have full mobility with no restrictions. In addition to workouts on the treadmill, elliptical & stationary bike, I play tennis 3-4 times a week. Dr. Garino performed a Total Hip Replacement on April 4th, 2023. The procedure was performed at the MUVE Center on Airport Road, West Chester. Everything that Dr. Garino said would happen did and I am one happy patient. I walked out of the Recovery Room with a Walker and to my room. I walked up and down the hallway that night once every hour for 5 times from 6pm to 10pm as directed by the physical therapist and that was without pain. My medications were waiting for me in my room after surgery. I didn't even have to take the heavy meds that were offered. Dr. Garino is an excellent surgeon and took away my pain instantly. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a replacement. Also, the staff at the MUVE Center are top notch. The nurses and therapists are very professional and courteous and answered all of my questions. Dr. Garino and the MUVE Center are the ones to use if you need surgery. I feel that Dr. Garino is an excellent replacement surgeon. I had him replace my hip in 2015 due to osteoarthritis. He did an excellent job. I was seeing Penn doctors. My knee needed replacement and my doctor refused because of a mild allergy to nickel. I looked up Dr Garino and he read all my reports and gave me first available. I had a very great experience and you should see the scar. Tiny straight and not that noticeable. I see him at the Malvern office. I am near the Phila airport but I will travel to see him! Dr. Garino was recommended by my PCP and I am ever so grateful. Upon his recommendation, the surgery for the replacement of my left knee was done at the MUVE Center in West Chester. Not only was my experience at Premier Orthopedics positive (friendly staff, on time appointments, knowledgable personnel), but the program that the MUVE Center offers is fantastic. There were pre-surgery exercise videos, tutorials, and FAQs which were so helpful in preparing for surgery. During my one night stay, I was provided with all the tools to help me recover quickly, including more education, PT, medications, walker & cane, plus great food and comfortable accommodations. After leaving, I was assigned a nurse navigator who is available for questions any time, and will have contact with me up to a year. Three weeks out I am walking without assistance and have most of my mobility back. A totally positive experience. Ii have had 3 knee implant surgeries before I had one with Dr. Garino. After those surgeries, I was in pain and rehabilitation for a few months each. The last one hurt for two years before I visited Dr. Gariono. His surgery was fast and not very painful at all. I went into the hospital one day and went home the next. And I had partial mobility of my new knee. After four weeks of at home rehab, I am returning to work four weeks after surgery. The knee is improving daily. Great Dr. Garino and your team. I first met Dr. Garino 17 years ago after tearing my ACL in a skiing accident. Because of my age, he first plan of care was to be conservative and rehab the knee, saving me from surgery. It worked. I then visited him 9 years later when my other knee began to hurt. To save that ACL he did a partial knee replacement which never quite felt right but was okay. At the 7 year mark, I decided I wanted to pursue a total knee replacement because the pain was limiting my lifestyle. Even though he moved his practice an hour away, I decided I wanted only Dr. Garino to do the operation. We had an open dialogue about this operation and what it would mean for me in terms of comfort going forward. He took the time to explain how the new prosthetics would compensate without an ACL. After some thought, we proceeded with the decision to do the operation as my daily pain was intolerable.. Everything went smoothly. He was present in the hospital during the 36hrs I was hospitalized to speak with me and my family. That visibility made us feel that he cared. His office staff is friendly, prompt and efficient. At office visits, he takes time to listen and answer every question you ask. He makes you feel that you both are in this together. I was very happy with Dr. Garino and the total left knee replacement surgery he performed on me. Very neat and fairly small scar. Prescribed necessary pain medicine to get me through my recovery. Most importantly, I think, he arranged for in-home nursing care and in-home physical therapy the first two weeks after I left the hospital. Since I really didn't know what was normal in my recovery, having these professionals see me and report to him was a great relief to me and for my recovery.Patient Submitted Review

Once I came to terms with the fact I had to have my hip replaced, I spent a month researching doctors and equipment. Dr. Garino is one of the top surgeons in the country for ceramic hip replacement. He uses a minimally invasive technique. I had a 4 inch incision, was walking the same day, had NO complications, and three weeks later, I'm walking without a cane. Dr. Garino and his team at Paoli Hospital are the BEST. I'm very active and expect to get my life back because of Dr. Garino. I can't thank him and his staff enough. He answered ALL my questions (and I had a lot... I was probably a little annoying). The nurses at Paoli Hospital really took care of me and were great. Dr. Garino was recommended to me 4 years ago when I had my first hip replacement. Since then I recommend him to everyone who wants the best, do not settle for less for yourself. Dr. Garino and his staff and everyone at Paoli Hospital are wonderful. I just had my second hip replacement and again, little scar, little pain, no problems and a quick recovery. I had hip surgery, full replacement right side less than 3 weeks ago. When Dr. Garino said in pre-op evaluation, that in 3 weeks I would be walking better than I was at that time, I was very skeptical. However, 18 days later I am walking without assistance, no cane or crutches, and virtually off all pain meds, and only one night hospital stay. The incision is so small that the visiting nurse and PT wonder how he can perform such an invasive procedure with such little cutting. Apparently this is Garino's 'signature work' since the visiting home nurse could identify my surgeon by just looking at the small incision, only 3-4 inches. I did some personal research on Garino prior to surgery. (My brother-in-law's best friend is a world class Orthopedic surgeon in Arizona and knows of Garino. He said he is 'the real deal, one of the best' and he trusted Garinoâ??s evaluation without even reviewing my x-rays). If you are very cautious and analytical, like me, you might be a little reactionary to Garino's assertive confidence, but it would seem, at least in my case, his diagnosis and remedy were 100% accurate. He is very efficient and wastes no time. We arrived early for my follow-up appointment and they took us shortly after we arrived and were out of the office before our original appointment was to begin. BTW, Paoli Hospital was a great experience. Very professional, disciplined, pleasant. It was more like a four star hotel, although I was only in for one night.Patient Submitted Review

My tight knee was replaced 11/5. It is a horrible surgery to have to have. My doc and staff were the best ever. They did everything to make this as manageable as possible. Anything and everything that I asked they did as quickly as possible. My doc J. Garino and Helen Dickson were there for me to do whatever they could to manage pain and make the operation successful. from start to finish, I had an excellent experience. Dr. Garino was very kind, straight forward, explained the process well. I thought the whole program with the hospital including class with Donna, pre rehab, and knee booklet were all excellent. Dr. Garino answered all of my questions. Dr. Garino did a total left hip replacement on me. He explained exactly what would happen, answered all my questions prior to and post op. Talked to me just prior to surgery and checked on me twice during my 24 hr stay. I was home the next day and was virtually pain free. It is now 3 months post op and I feel fantastic. I am an active 57 years old and Dr. Garino has totally replaced both of my hips over the past ten years. His work has been excellent: my hips are fantastic and I walk for miles perfectly (i.e. no limp and no pain). Surgery is simple and the incision is a mere three inches. Dr. Garino did a great job. The special system of anesthesia that he uses makes all the difference. I walked to the bathroom six hours after surgery. At 36 hours I used a walker and went out to my car. retired Jersey cop, had two hip replacements and couldn't be happier with the results. Doctor Garino will spend as much time explaining any questions you might have or not understand, as necessary. Brilliant Surgeon, excellant bed side manners. I feel very fortunate, he did my surgery.
