I met with Dr Tantorski 8 years ago when I was 44. He explained to me that I had a ruptured disc between L4-L5 (lower spine) and it's leaning on my sciatic nerve. We gained a plan to see if I could avoid a surgery, but unfortunately it didn't work. Dr Tantorski explained the surgery procedure in simple terms, so I knew exactly what was going to happen; including recovery. So, I decided to get the surgery. One of the best decisions in my life!! I had two separate cervical disc surgeries, both done by Dr Tantorski, and I had a great outcome each time, with a fairly easy recovery each time. The outcomes for me were so good that I felt cured each time immediately upon waking up after each surgery. I know that not everyone will have such perfect outcomes, but I can tell my story, and it's that I had two separate surgeries, 6-months apart, and both turned out terrific. Those surgeries were 3+ years ago, and I feel "as good as new". Dr Tantorski did such a great job, that if I didn't remember having the surgeries, I would never know that I had anything. Even the incision scars disappeared in less than a year, and I'd struggle to find them if I looked now. I would definitely recommend Dr Tantorski, and I would not hesitate to go back to him again if I needed any other spinal surgeries. Side note: my experience at Chester County Hospital where the surgeries were done, was also terrific. Those neck surgeries sound scary, but Dr Tantorski and Chester County Hospital made it easy for me. They did all the hard work. And each time I woke up after surgery, I knew within minutes that all the symptoms that led to the surgeries were gone. So two fantastic outcomes, and I don't think that's a coincidence. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr Tantorski. My back issues came on rather suddenly. I never had any problems with my back, then I quickly deteriorated over a few months. I had severe pain in my hips and legs, numbness and weakness in my legs. I could not walk or stand for more than a few minutes without difficulty, stairs and inclines were just about impossible. I went to physical therapy, and had two series of injections with no relief. When the discussion of surgery came about, my family Dr (that I have trusted for many years) told me that Dr Tantorski will not perform an operation unless he is sure that it will help you. My mind was at ease in taking this step.I had my surgery about six months ago. I am now at the point that I have forgotten what it was like before surgery. The pain in my hips is gone, numbness and weakness gone. Without surgery, I was headed for a wheelchair, at age 60, I was not ready to embrace that. Dr. Tantorski and his staff are great, he took the time to explain things and made sure that I had everything I needed for a full recovery. They have a philosophy of partnering with the patient and creating a path for wellness. I won’t lie, there were some hard days after the surgery. I stayed the course, went to physical therapy, followed the plan. Today, I am very well, I go to 4 yoga classes a week and I am not limited in anything I want to do. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr Tantorski. My back issues came on rather suddenly. I never had any problems with my back, then I quickly deteriorated over a few months. I had severe pain in my hips and legs, numbness and weakness in my legs. I could not walk or stand for more than a few minutes without difficulty, stairs and inclines were just about impossible. I went to physical therapy, and had two series of injections with no relief. When the discussion of surgery came about, my family Dr (that I have trusted for many years) told me that Dr Tantorski will not perform an operation unless he is sure that it will help you. My mind was at ease in taking this step. I had my surgery about six months ago. I am now at the point that I have forgotten what it was like before surgery. The pain in my hips is gone, numbness and weakness gone. Without surgery, I was headed for a wheelchair, at age 60, I was not ready to embrace that. Dr. Tantorski and his staff are great, he took the time to explain things and made sure that I had everything I needed for a full recovery. They have a philosophy of partnering with the patient and creating a path for wellness. I won’t lie, there were some hard days after the surgery. I stayed the course, went to physical therapy, followed the plan. Today, I am very well, I go to 4 yoga classes a week and I am not limited in anything I want to do. Doctor Tantorski was referred to me by my primary care physician after I took a very bad fall down the stairs .I had four cracked vertebrae in my back and I was not certain what to expect when meeting a back surgeon. Doctor Tantorski put me immediately at ease with a wait and see approach to self healing. Best doctor for my back ever!!! I was in a car accident and tried everything, every kind of treatment and shot, and then Dr. Tantorski offered me an SI Fusion, which is not a common surgery, and now I have no back pain at all! Simply stated, Dr. Mark Tantorski is a very talented surgeon who is also willing to take the time to explain options for surgery, expectations, possible complications and answer any questions. I had a two level cervical disc replacement surgery about seven weeks ago and I cannot be happier with the results. I have markedly less pain and I anticipate further improvement over time. Dr Tantorski has treated me for neck and knee pain. Never has a doctor spent so much time listening to me. We discussed everything in great detail- all my questions were answered and my concerns addressed. I never felt rushed. He obviously cares a great deal about his patients and is committed to their recovery. A year later, both my neck and knee pain is gone- and no surgery was required! I was involved in automobile accident and a week later i was in ER with extreme pain in leg and back, after being examined I was told that my disk had herniated and would require surgery. I was nervous because I did not know about his background. He performed surgery and almost eight months later I am stating to feel normal again. Dr Tantorksi is an an amazing surgeon. He performed a micro disctectomy for a herniated disc that was giving me immense leg pain for 2 months! He showed great care and empathy before surgery encouraging me to evaluate all options before agreeing to have surgery. I consulted a number of doctors and 2 neurosurgeons and selected Dr Tantorski because he gave me the greatest comfort. The surgery went very smoothly.
